Update: My initial fundraising page has now been replaced by a joint one with Dad and it is also being promoted over on the Modblog. Please visit the page and sponsor us. Thanks.

Belfast Marathon route 2010

In three weeks time Dad and I are planning to run the Belfast City Marathon and together we are raising money for The Prostate Cancer Charity. Dad has previously ran the 2009 Newry Marathon but 3rd May 2010 will be my first (and last) attempt at a marathon. So far we’ve clocked up well over 400 miles in training and since the start of the year we’ve been following this schedule. I’ll probably post a couple of updates between now and the marathon.

Dad and I after our first 7 miler back in snowy January. It seemed like a long run at the time!

Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer amongst men in the UK and The Prostate Cancer Charity is involved in funding and encouraging research, supporting diagnosed men and their friends and family, and campaigning to improve the lives of men fighting the disease. We’ve chosen to raise funds for this charity because of a close family member and we would very much appreciate any donations you can make.

When you see either of us in person we’d be delighted to receive any sponsorship but to make things even easier you can sponsor us online through Virgin Money Giving. Just visit our sponsorship page and click “Donate Now”. It’s very easy to use and Virgin Money Giving will send all of your donation straight on to the Prostate Cancer Charity. Your support for the Prostate Cancer Charity could help save men’s lives. Thanks for your support.
