UTV Abortion Poll

26 Jul

Below is an email I recieved yesterday written by Callum Webster of Christian Institute. Please vote in the poll.

Brethren,

This week 6 British MPs have tabled an amendment to the HFEA Bill calling for the 1967 Abortion Act to be extended to Northern Ireland. None of these 6 MPs are from Northern Ireland and none of them represent Northern Irish constituencies.

Since the 1967 Act over 6.7 million babies have been aborted in England, Scotland, & Wales. Currently there are approx 200,000 abortions every year in Britain – about 1 in 5 of all pregnancies.

Ulster Television (UTV) is running an online poll asking whether abortion should be legalised in NI. Please vote “No” and pass the link on to anyone else who you think will vote against the legalisation of abortion. See http://www4.u.tv/polls/

 Your brother in Christ,

Callum

Haven’t you read the news lately. We are globally running out of fresh water, global warming is upon us, we are collectively destroying species after species, depleting the fish stocks in the ocean. The population of the planet is still growing at such a rate that it will soon exceed 10 billion. Sorry, but the planet cannot sustain this kind of growth.

Ho, and have you been in American’s inner cities lately?? Poverty, education gap, etc – because these poor folks don’t know better – Have they been rejected by God?

And you can’t stop people to have sex….

So sorry, but I am not sorry – a few babies not coming to the world (and not suffering) is better than 10 billion dying because the planet has exhausted all its resources.

Start thinking – leave the fairy world behind.

By the same logic with which you minimise the importance of abortion would you defend the Holocaust in Nazi Germany?

    Mr. Plum

You are the moral equivalent of a Nazi. The fact people are dying because of other reasons DOES NOT allow you to justify unjustly killing other people. Perhaps we should kill you because “the planet is exhausted of its resources”? Because after all, if we can start killing people for arbitrary reasons, then there is nothing to stop us from killing you as well if it suits us. Therefore, perhaps you should take your own advice and “start thinking – leave the fairy world behind.”

You need to repent of this wicked opinion and seek salvation in Christ alone; only then will you be equipped to help other people.

People are dying in the 3rd world not because “the planet has exhausted its resources” in the sense you mean, but largely due to the Marxist/Socialist economic policies which have ravaged and destroyed the earth. Alternatively, in a godly social order God promises that the earth shall flourish as people obey His law (Deut. 28:1-14). Christians should pay no heed to the sort of nonsense spoken above; yes there is suffering in the world because of sin, but God commands us to be fruitful and multiply and subdue the earth in accordance with His Law (Gen. 1:26-28)

I recieved an email from a friend informing me of certain MPs decision to extend the abortion law to NI and, in my opinion of course, i’m agree; it’s about time for the people of NI to have the choice to choose abortion instead of feeling ashamed of their decision and have to go to England to do so.
